  • Felted Bead Necklace Workshop

    Come and make a felted bead necklace at our workshop for kids and their families. Demonstrated by Hannah Ranger.

    Where: At the Toy Library in the basement of the Church of the Good Shepherd, 693 Riverside Road, Wakefield.

    When: Saturday February 13, 2010, 10-11am. Toy Library open 9:30am - 11:30am

    What: Felted bead necklace workshop, ages 3 and up. Coffee and snacks provided.

    Cost: $5 per necklace.  Proceeds to IONA and Cabane A Jeux.

    ‘The Old Man of Lochnagar’…a story for young and old
    lochnagar

    A mysterious group of storytellers is said to be coming down from the hills…One may be wearing a kilt, another bearing a harp!’

    A wonderful tale written by HRH The Prince of Wales about the adventures of an old man from Lochnagar, “from a time when children were even smaller and people had especially hairy knees…!”

    Suitable for ages 0 – 10yrs and their families.

  • Spindlewood - a puppet story told by Yvette Halpin

    Spindlewood is a story of a little girl who tries to find her friends, the fairies and gnomes who have gone to join Mother Earth deep in the earth.  Followed by seasonal songs in English and French.

    Ages 3-8.

    Cost $5 per child, $10 per family.

    Our little toy library is too full – we’d like to give some of it  back to local families!

    Help us reduce and reuse larger size donated toys, and raise money to improve the toy library and CAJ services.

    Make your own bowl or crazy creature with Carrie Leavoy of Mud Pies Pottery www.mudpiespottery.ca
    Each participant will work on one project which will be fired at Carrie’s studio just outside of Wakefield (27 Ch. des Sentiers) where you can later pick up your finished works of art.

    Cost $10 per person/project material and firings included.
